ECD - Early Childhood Development

Luweero Diocese ECD Teacher's Training Institute is a sister branch/Institute Under Luweero Diocese Vocational Institute. The ECDTr's Institute Particulary Trains Students in Early Childhood Development.

       These students belong to the following training programs

1. The child care program
2. The Early Childhood Certificate in Education (ECCE)

          These students train for a period of one year and two years respectively given the training program one chooses

                                The ECD Curriculum

According to the ministry of Education and Sports, the ECDE training rotates around the following documents as guided by the NCDC under the ministry's strict Supervision:-

(i)   The learning Frame Work (ECD Curriculum)

(ii)  The Care givers Training Manual

(iii) The Caregivers Guide

These documents are the ones recomended for use in the training of the ECD students

A part from the theorectical regions training, the students also undergo two practical papers i.e the material production and Display and the school practice which is Semi and final in both arrangements.
